Frontend Web Technologies

HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are the primary technologies for creating modern websites and applications. So far, we can semantically structure information, make it visually appealing, and handle user events to trigger animations and logic. Hover on each card to learn more about these technologies.

HTML

Hypertext Markup Language (HTML) is a standard for semantically defining documents and applications on the web. HTML5 is its last version, and the W3C and the WHATWG organizations consider it a living standard (WHATWG, 2024). This webpage's code is HTML5.

CSS

Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) are a rule-based syntax for styling web documents and applications. It determines element and text aspects like spacing, colors, backgrounds, effects, and fonts (W3C, 2024). CSS rules define this container's border and padding.

JavaScript

JavaScript (JS) is an interpreted language primarily used to run scripts on the web. We use this language to add interactivity and logic to web applications. Thanks to its multi-paradigm, dynamic nature, JS also powers server environments like Node.js (MDN contributors, 2024).
